Anthony Jahn
The American Academy of Teachers of Singing is pleased to recognize Anthony Jahn with a 2025 AATS Lifetime Achievement Award “in recognition of decades-long contributions to the medical and artistic communities.”

Anthony Jahn M.D. is a prominent otolaryngologist known for his specialized work in treating voice and ear disorders, particularly among professional singers. Board-certified in both Canada and the United States, Dr. Jahn has a distinguished clinical and teaching career, including roles as a Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine and as adjunct professor in related fields at Rutgers University and Westminster Choir College. He has also served as ENT consultant to St. Thomas Choir School in New York. In his medical practice, Dr. Jahn is deeply committed to the unique needs of vocalists, and has served as ENT consultant to organizations like the Metropolitan Opera, where he offers medical care tailored to the specific needs of performers. His expertise extends to pioneering techniques, including methods to improve middle ear ventilation. Dr. Jahn is a prolific author, with over 100 publications and several books on otolaryngology and vocal health, often writing for publications such as Classical Singer to advise singers on vocal health. Outside of his practice, Dr. Jahn has contributed his skills to international medical missions, notably through a mobile ear clinic in rural Thailand, where he provides ear care to underserved communities—a testament to his commitment to global health and his belief in the importance of volunteerism in medicine.
