Author of Interpreting the Songs of Maurice Ravel and Interpreting the Songs of Gabriel Fauré. Educated at Harvard. Studied extensively in Paris with Pierre Bernac, winner of Premier NommÈ prize at Ecole Normale de Musique. Pursued his career principally in Europe, becoming particularly noted for his interpretation of French song literature and the songs of Charles Ives. Teaching: Professor of Music, Boston University, 1967-1992; Head of Department of Voice, 1980-1985. Currently, private studio in Boston.
