Chloe Owen made her New York debut in 1951 then built an almost exclusively European concert and opera career before returning to the United States and professorship at Boston University where she is now Professor Emerita. She sang throughout Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland with such conductors as Ernest Ansermet, George Szell, Wolfgang Martin, Otto Ackermann, and Karl Richter. She has taught at the Berkshire Music Center, Tanglewood; the American Institute of Westminster College; American Institute of Musical Studies, Graz, Austria; and the National Association of Teachers of Singing 1993 and 1995 Voice Teacher Intern Program.
Current Activities
2006 Monday evenings, directing opera with Pacific Opera Encore Performances in Manhattan.
